What will you work with?

As an archivist, you will:

  • Conduct preservation and appraisal investigations, update the agency's document management plan and classification structure.
  • Participate in the work with archival deliveries to the agency's e-archive and take part in the e-archive's archival care.
  • Engage in various cross-functional working groups and monitor archival issues.
  • Receive deliveries to the agency's paper archive.
  • Provide advice and support and participate in training initiatives at the agency.
  • Work with other tasks within the archival function.

The work also involves handling classified documents. Sweden's membership in NATO imposes additional requirements on the agency's information management.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

  • University degree with 60 credits (40 points) in archival science.
  • Professional experience as an archivist within public operations.
  • Solid knowledge of the regulations for state archival operations.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Experience with appraisal investigations.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Basic knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • We place great importance on personal qualities. As an archivist, you need to have a pronounced sense of responsibility for the tasks, a careful and structured working method. Additionally, you need to have good collaboration skills and be service-oriented.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Experience working with e-archives.
  • Professional experience as an archivist within state operations.

What does the unit do?

The unit for archives and document management is responsible for the agency's archives and registries and establishes the agency's document management plan. The unit investigates preservation and appraisal and is responsible for the agency's reporting of public documents through registration, archival accounting including classification structure and document management plan. Additionally, the unit is also responsible for archival care. The unit includes both registrars and archivists who work closely together, even though their main responsibilities and tasks differ.

About the employment

You will be employed as an administrator based at our office in Solna. The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible by agreement.

As an employee of the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be placed in a war position. Certain positions are classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work of up to 40 percent of your working time.
